Breeder??? -- This is a RESCUE dog!!
I remember years ago there was a dog with a bad rear that was returned to
me,
the Breeder!! It was proven by neighbors of the Owner that he had beaten
this
dog with a baseball bat many times trying to "train it" causing the problems
described below which did improve with age.
This particular dog was also under a year of age when returned to me. Norma

I was at my vet's office with one of the rescues and he asked me if I
knew much about steep croups because he has seen a client with an older
puppy that is having problems walking. He said the pelvis was very
sloped and that he took x-rays which showed the heads of the femurs
where subluxated and forward of where they should be, but still in the
cup. He said the heads where rounded and the sockets were developed.
The owner had brought the dog in because it was having trouble walking
to the point that when he runs, his rear legs are very wobbly when they
move rearward and he wiggles his butt from side to side in conjunction
with the rearward extension of the rear leg. I told him I would ask the
list and get back to him.
Has anyone heard of anything like this? The owner is wanting to know if
chiropractic care might help, if it's a stage he'll grow out of, or ???
Oh, the dog is a GSD under a year old.
