Arizona people, keep your eyes and ears open... in fact... EVERYBODY.  We need
an alert system on which everybody possible would respond.

msn agendas in our rural counties

Sun Dec 28, 2008 4:38 am (PST)

From Charlotte McGowan:

This was forwarded to me. It sounds as though the animal rghts people
are using stealth methods to push their MSN agenda in rural areas
CM

Subject: [AAAVA] msn agendas in our rural counties

For those of you sitting on the fence or believing the crap these animal
rights whackos up in Yavapai are spewing, this Notice of Attendance for
Public Hearing regarding MSN was posted one day in advance of the
meeting. They tried to pull the same thing over in Chino Valley as well.

If the MSN works so well then why do they feel the need to sneak these
private agendas in with virtually no chance of anyone whom might oppose
it to attend. After all their supporters clearly are given plenty of
advance notice for they show up in large numbers and get virtually no
opposition, and they lead our council members to believe that everyone
wants it and no one opposes it.

The scariest part is they all keep using the Albuquerque MSN as a
reference as if it is a wonderful thing supported by all when in reality
it is a serious invasion of one's rights and totally non-enforceable.
However, when you ask them for the statistics to support its success,
they are unable to do so.

Yavapai County residents need to be on the ball up there before it
becomes illegal for you to pet your dog in public!!! One of the key
players up there is a rescue group in Prescott area with a web site all
about rescue dogs/shelter dogs, etc etc but nowhere does this key player
mention any involvement in the legislative process for animals, yet they
were first in line on December 11 at the public hearing to shove MSN
down your throat,

Residents need to attend the next public hearing with their council
members to set them straight on private interest groups and their
underhanded tactics and show disgust for their methods. I will
guarantee you that the HSUS is sitting on someone's back porch up there
and using the same back door to get MSN anywhere in AZ so as to use it
as a precedent for the rest of the State one county at a time.

Council members need to insist that they produce actual statistics of
success vs generic references to laws in other states. Personally I
think our Governments should develop specific guidelines and insist they
keep accurate records and produce them during sessions as proof to back
up making changes to laws/legislation that affect our rights as animal
owners.

With no one policing these private interest groups with private agendas
they have free reign to make it up as they go along and tweak statistics
as they see fit to further fuel their agendas. I also would like to see
shelters break down their adoption percentages into those that are
adopted directly to public vs those that rescue takes into foster. Just
because the animal leaves the shelter breathing doesn't necessarily mean
it has been placed in a permanent home.

Would love to give you those percentages, unfortunately it is not black
and white, but some shade of gray, that being my least favorite color.
Perhaps Richard Smith, the Deputy Clerk is overworked and needs an
Administrative Assistant to help him get this info out in a more timely
manner, or perhaps not.

Below is the notice, please note the date the notice was given, would be
curious to know at what time the notice was posted.
