I have three...the ones with the little gel pellets that swell when soaked in water. I have found that they are very helpful to keep the dogs cool in very hot weather....either at shows when traveling. In motel, I soak them over night in the bath tub so they are ready to use in the morning. The largeone that is the size of a 500 vari-kennel mat is very, very heavy when fully soaked. The other two are much smaller - about half the size of a 400 vari-kennel mat, but are certainly enough to keep the dog cool and much easier to handle. Some GSD people I have talked to, feel they should not be used at shows so the dogs can adapt to the heat and that it is much harder onthem to gait in the heat if they have been laying on a cool mat all day. Would be curious to know what others think of this philosophy. ************** Get fantasy football with free live scoring. Sign up for FanHouse Fantasy Football today.
