I've been looking at both sides of this pancake for ages and ages
now. What I want? I want the white coated GSD to be accepted in our
standard. There is no health reason why they shouldn't. There are
reasons why a blue or a liver or an albino should still be
disqualified under our standard as I read it, but not the white
coated. I understand that there is a problem because of the World
Union (is that right? it's late) which does not accept the white
coats in the ?FICA? Standard, but.... It's what I would want.
That said, as long as the rules say that a DQ can't receive the
highest GSDCA award, and if the white coat is a DQ, it doesn't seem
logical that they get the award. I'm not talking about right! I'm
talking logic. If a DQ dog can get the award, then ALL DQ dogs should
get that award,if earned. Not just one DQ, but all.
So if the rules are 'broken' to allow the white coated GSDs to get it,
then by golly, any of them should. And following logic, all
agility,herding, and any other performance dog with any DQ they have
should get it, too.
I'm almost done with my NC report, folks, and just finished the bit on
grass roots activism... Does it show???
