It drops way down about 12 hours before whelping, supposedly, then goes back up to normal. If you don't catch it at the right time, they can surprise you. Because of this, I never found the temperature taking to be a good enough indication. On the other hand, if you are able to stick around and just wait, there's really no need to take temps. At least, that's what I've always found......... Peggy hehe, yes, which is why I always take it FOUR TIMES a day. My poor girls, sometimes I think they'd pop out the puppies just to stop me from "stickin'" them again. Congrats Mo, I hope she's had more than one by now! More than likely, just as Peggy said, she could have just as easily have popped the entire batch out without ANY temp taking at all, if she had her way! Please let us know what the final "score" is!
