Each of us has to decide for ourselves what we will believe. I think that Guy
probably did what he felt he must . I just feel very sad that it happened .

Connie....please...they got a court order to take pictures.

"The 75-year-old had puncture wounds and lacerations to her forearm, chest
and head, police said."
The 75-year-old victim, Constance Ladd of Branchburg, suffered four apparent
bite wounds to her chest, right shoulder, right forearm and head, along with
other less serious lacerations from the animals, officials said.

The owners decided on their own to have the dogs euthanized, Guy James and
township animal control officer Mark Johnson said. Congo and one of the other
dogs was 2 1/2 and the other two dogs were 1 1/2 years old.

Officials said it's not clear how many and which of the dogs actually bit
Ladd or what provoked them, although township police detective Sgt. Ernie
Silagyi said the police officers responding to the scene indicated there "were
obvious dog bites."

"At 11:15 (Tuesday) night, the emergency room doctor called me to say this
was definitely dog bites, not scratches," Johnson said. The animal control
officer then secured an emergency order from Superior Court to have pictures
taken of Ladd's wounds, and the photos were taken early yesterday morning.

It would just make my day if these people never got another dog. They have
one left and CLEARLY, no matter how they chose to spin it, a multi-dog
household is not for them. They "find" themselves in situations that go bad,
and of course it's the media's fault, it's animal control's fault, it's the
polices' fault, the judges aren't fair, everybody has it our for them, the ER
can't tell the difference between a scratch and PUNCTURE wounds...so much for
personal responsibility.

And now "poor" Mr. James had to go and tell his children what he had to
do...let me help him. "Kids, mommy and daddy made a series of irresponsible
decisions. Our irresponsibility lead to your grandmother and another person
being hurt. The consequence of our actions is that two of our dogs and their
offspring lives were cut short. We are very sorry for our actions. We are
especially sorry for the pain, both physical and emotional that our decisions
have cause others. We are sorry for the turmoil we have put you through for
the past year."

(Of course, I'm dreaming. He'll continue to play the "blame everybody but me
game" and the next generation will learn from his example.)

I spoke with Guy James yesterday about what happened with Congo and he told
me that the police report was not correct that his mother in law had not been
bitten , that she got scratched and that because of her age her skin was like
paper and tore when they jumped on her in excitement . I have to say I have
seen this happen so it is certainly believable .
I asked him to write me a story to send to the list, so that the list would
know the truth of what happened . He was very devastated, so he had another
person that has been involved send me the letter below .

Connie this about sums it up. Thank you so much for everything.Linda, I've
been following the Congo story for a year now and have been very supportive of
Congo protecting his family.

Unfortunately, Mrs. James mother, Mrs Ladd had an encounter with Congo and
3 of his family when she opened up a back door. The dogs were waiting to come
in, and as the dogs were jumping all over her in excitement....Mrs james went
to push her Mother out of the way and Mrs Ladd fell. In no way was Mrs Ladd
being "attacked" as the media just loves to put it....once more, drama again..

Whatever happened , it happened, and it is what it is......

But I just want to share with you why Guy James felt he had to have his
pets put down....

It was the most humane thing he could do for them, otherwise Congo, Lucia
and the 2 pups would get locked up and never get out with the outcome the same.
Mr James would rather tell why he made that decision himself and the pain of
that decision is enormous. He stayed with all 4 of his dogs while they were
being put down.....I can't even imagine what pain that man suffered.
Afterwards, he had to go home and tell his children what he had to do.

And later to read other people's outrageous postings.......who just wanted
to laugh, poke fun, make the worst of comments and could care less about
anything else but their own ignorance and how to be disgusting with some one
else's pain.

The James Family has shown responsibility with Congo and their canine
family. What happened yesterday was a tool for Princeton Township and the
unrelenting animal control officer to gain on. The entire incident was not as
bad as it would have seemed if it had not been enhanced by so much negativity
toward this family and their pets.

Congo, Lucia and their family are gone now and gone for good. What a
shame it had to come to this with so much misunderstanding. May the James
Family now find their peace on their own as they have their own personal pain
to deal with also.

    Thank you ,
