They won't give him back, they want the money AND to keep him. If I could get the dog back by giving them the money I would in a second, but this is not what they want.  Ann Marie www.amarigsd.com Home of ChFairway's Leah v Nadelwald TC ROM OFA Ch Amari's Beware of Foxy Roxy CGC TC OFA Ch Amari's Elizabeth Taylor OFA (Best in Show Bred-By winner) Amari's It's All in the Game (in-training :)) and our newest girl Amari's Katharine Hepburn Breeder/Owner of R/Best in Futurity Ch Amari's Ava Gardner TC OFA Ch Amari's Bandit of Broadcreek OFA (Multiple Group Placer) Amari's Blissfull Jazz CGC TDI (Major pointed) Amari's Cinderella von Hornberger (Ch pointed) Amari's Chances Are (Ch pointed) Amari's Ella Enchanted (Ch pointed @ 7 months/Major Reserve @ 11 months) ________________________________ From: john garnett <rdg718@xxxxxxxxx> To: "brittaleahnasa@xxxxxxxxx" <brittaleahnasa@xxxxxxxxx> Sent: Friday, September 30, 2011 11:34 PM Subject: Re: [ SHOWGSD-L ] Congential Defect..Low in the Rear?????? give the money back get the dog back and you are done with ...what more important the money or the dog..... john From: Ann Mariano <brittaleahnasa@xxxxxxxxx> To: showgsd-l <showgsd-l@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Friday, September 30, 2011 5:00 PM Subject: [ SHOWGSD-L ] Congential Defect..Low in the Rear?????? I have a difficult puppy person who from day one was difficult when they asked to negotiate the price, which of course I refused since he was my show pick male, and I had no issue with keeping him. They later agreed to my price since they visited other breeders whose pups were much less, and saw the difference in the quality of dogs. Soon after they informed me they were entitled to the purchase price, AND to keep him due to having coccidia, round worms and he would need emergent hernia surgery since their vet stated the pup was "unfit for purchase". My vet saw him, explained these are common puppy issues, the hernia was extremely small and may close on its own so he felt the pup had not been unfit for purchase, and the hernia was very very slight and could be corrected for $75 when he is neutered at 6 months, and did not need surgery now. I question their vet practice (known to be against breeders, advocate shock collars for training, etc.), and extreme costs and practices (they wanted immediate surgery and quoted a price almost triple that my vet had said). The girlfriend agreed with me, but she said convincing her boyfriend to change vets would be hard. At the time, I offered again and again to take the pup back (he was the show pick ad an extreme mover) due to circumstance and her boyfriend being so difficult to deal with, and felt they were not ones who would listen if anything else should happen. They chose to keep him. Well, I was right, it seems they stayed with the vet, and just paid an additional $175 when he was neutered for the hernia, and pup is now 6 months, and has a "low rear" and were told he may need "braces" to correct its hocks. Supposedly, they have an orthopedic doctor who says this is a "congential" defect, and her and her boyfriend are requesting I refund the full purchase price. The boyfriend wants me to call him, which I refuse sinceof my prior dealings with him, and have asked them to speak with their orthopedic dr. and have not yet heard back. Their email is below, and any thoughts/experiences with this would be great, since according to NJ Law "congential" defects are covered up until 6 months of purchase, but I just can't see how this can be congential, its just a pup will alot of rear. Hope this email finds you well. I have started a new job, and this is my new email address so you have it for your records. I wanted to reach out to you to make you aware of a few things that have been going on. A few months after we brought Sarge home, he seemed to be walking a little funny on his back legs, but Chris and family would just say itâ??s his puppy clumsiness and brush it off. As he is getting older, it hasnâ??t gotten any better, it actually got worse. We recently had him neutered and his hernia repaired (which was $175.00) and I decided to have the vet check out his back legs and do x-rays. After seeing him walk, and seeing the x-rays, the vet advised it was definitely NOT normal and we needed to see an orthopedic surgeon. Today, Sarge had that appointment. On a plus side, we were relieved to hear he does not need any surgery but the orthopedic surgeon and doctor informed us that he has very abnormal confirmation in his back end. He doesnâ??t stand properly and apparently he is much lower to the ground in terms of stance then he should be. They advised that this abnormality on his back legs is causing issues with the hoc on his hind feet and he is even growing additional padding to try and compensate. The doctors said that this is congenial and due to his genes, and he will need extensive physical therapy, and most likely ankle braces to re strengthen his muscles back there. If it isnâ??t treated properly now, he will always overcompensate and can cause permanent damage in addition to other health problems.  I spoke to a Physical Therapist a few hours ago and we are taking him there in a week for his first consultation, but as you can imagine this has caused a pretty significant financial strain on us. First Sarge had the cocidia, then roundworm, then the hernia, and now this the most serious of them all. I do not think for one second you intentional sold us a sick dog and whether you are aware or not of your dogs having any issues, sadly we have one that does and its going to cost us a SIGNIFICANT amount of money, very early on his life. We love Sarge with all our hearts and we will do everything we can to make him better  but in fairness to us we would like some compensation back. We agreed to paying such a HIGH amount to you because of the bloodline and medical history. Paying $1800+ and getting a 6 month old puppy with some serious medical issues wasnâ??t what we had in mind. As you know there are tons of dogs at shelters and rescues that need homes and are significantly cheaper and seem to have no health problems.  If you want to talk about this more via the phone, please call Chris on his cell phone. We are hopeful you will recognize the predicament this has put us in, and do what we think is fair in reimbursing us the original cost for him.  Ann Marie www.amarigsd.com Home ofChFairway's Leah v Nadelwald TC ROM OFA Ch Amari's Beware of Foxy Roxy CGC TC OFA Ch Amari's Elizabeth Taylor OFA (Best in Show Bred-By winner)Amari's It's All in the Game (in-training :))and our newest girl Amari's Katharine Hepburn Breeder/Owner of R/Best in Futurity Ch Amari's Ava Gardner TC OFA Ch Amari's Bandit of Broadcreek OFA (Multiple Group Placer) ===========================================================================POST is Copyrighted 2011. All material remains the property of the original author and of GSD Communication, Inc.
