Selling dog food is HUGE at the vets I patronize. Steady traffic, any
hour of the day, owners picking up food. Constant phone calls ordering special
foods, checking on availability and delivery schedule.
Can there really be that many pets who need "special" diets????????????
Allergies, digestive upset, kidney woes, "diet" food now GLUTEN FREE
FOODS??????
At least one location has a section for raw fed animals, powders and
vitamins to make certain the pet is getting the nutrients they need. Probably
not a bad idea when I see what parents feed their children, or even the
shape the parents and children are in, not a big leap to wonder about their
knowledge of nutrition. I can only imagine what or how some companion owners
"raw feed".
And I love Royal Canin to wean but honestly, the prices on their web site
are a good 30% less than the vets! (Delivered free, I don't have to GO to
the vets!)
While we're at it, you know what really ANGERS me? First question from
vet techs with their little clip board before you see the actual vet, "what
do you feed him/her"? Friend ended up at an e-vet into the wee hours of the
morning, bitch not progressing with labor. Chickie with clipboard, first
question, "What is she eating?" Does it freaking look like we came in to
discuss her DIET????? Ughhhhhhhhhhhhhh................

Ever notice when you go to the vet, and thank God I don't go often, they
have all sorts of dog food products ( all processed). When I go see my Dr.
There are no counters or selves filled with rice, bread, milk
vegetables, meat or potato chips ( if he had that stuff maybe I'd go to the Dr
more
often!) I think you get my point.... or at least I hope you do! Lord knows
what
uproar happens when I tell a joke! Ed Hill
