When I lived in a ski resort, we built a car wash and used antifreeze
instead of water to heat the coils in the concrete floor. Even with the
"subway"
doors opening and closing letting cars in and out, it kept the building warm
and toasty. Hardly noticed an increase in our natural gas bill. I'll never
live in snow country again, but I highly recommend using the antifreeze
instead of water should someone braver than me build a home there.
