SHEEEEESH.....Evan! I hope that statement was made tongue-in-cheek! NO ONE
talking about the Breeders Code is trying to force anything on anyone! Did
you read the part of my post where it says, "The Breeders Code is only a
GUIDELINE?!"
There are people in the world that are still signing up for the first
time (hopefully, they will continue) and approach this new world with the
assumption that some expectation be met to "become" a responsible
breeder.....what
should we tell them when they ask what is expected? Aw....just do it however
you want....? No words about the heavy responsibility??
Not everyone has been around as long as you or I and knows the
ropes....do we not have a duty to at least suggest to these new people in the
form of a
GUIDELINE
that it entails alot more than putting two dogs together? If we are not part
of the solution, are we not part of the problem?
I do not see how this can be construed as "forcing our ideals on
someone". I had rather thought of it as "education". Tell me where I'm going
wrong,
here.....
