I knew some people who bred (not Shepherds, and not Cavaliers,
either) for years and never really had a market for puppies, pet or
show. What those people
did was so offensive to me I had a hard time even being in the same room
with them. They'd whelp a litter and cull any that weren't correctly
marked,
and then raise the others. When those puppies got to be about 5 or 6
months old, they'd put down the ones they weren't going to keep, and the
remaining
puppies were the ones they planned on showing.
Those people also didn't have any OLD dogs around.
Then he became the President of his breed's Parent Club.
Suddenly they were able to sell everything they bred...no more culling,
not at any age. .
altho they still never had any old dogs around.
Shows the silliness of people...they didn't want dogs from these
people until he got to be "important." It also shows that some people
DO cull, and for
strange reasons........
