Our club meetings are held at the AKC Museum of the Dog - room rent is $50
nightly.
For years, we had it at a local city's Rec Center, but when the nightly rent
rose to $100, we decided to
move. The Dog Museum has some perks, too (free video eqpt rental,
pet-friendly, etc.) Members can
bring dogs to the Museum. Before the move, we had to limit the number of
dogs at each meeting, so had
to sign up the meeting before. Both are great places for educational
programs, including Therapy Dog training.
And great for Christmas Parties and Picnics as they both have kitchens. We
always have a table at the front of the
room for the officers to sit and to put out copies of treasurer's reports
and minutes, Regional Club Challenge
forms, GSDCA Applications, etc. I wish the club had purchased some land
years ago so we could have our own building and show site now.

Board meetings, in the past, were held at restaurants - if you wanted to
eat, get there an hour earlier.
Now they're held at a member's place of business, which has been working ok
(and it's cheaper, too!).
