Let us not forget, that the majority of our GSDs ARE NOT SHOW DOGS, they are
pets, and these people are also hurting. Many family pets are being surrendered
because they can no longer afford them and their medical expenses.
Auto immune diseases are not CHEAP to treat!. Special diets, meds. one of the
ladies on my CHAT GROUP has just had a re occurance of severe skin allergies
(due to flea dermititis). Drugs of choice (antibiotics and Cyclosporine. PF
stable, EPI stable but these diseases have shut down his immune system.
Cyclosporine(name brand $700.00/month. Generic $376/month. 2 years ago this
med
cost $156/month.

Greg people are making choices and it is not just the handling fees but also
the
expenses of the owners going to and from the shows. People are having to decide
what their priorities are and showing dogs is slipping farther down the list
as
evidenced by the lack of entries and clubs going under,. I am happy for people
who have enough disposable income they can choose dog shows over everyday
living
. I don't know many people like that anymore
