This strain of Parvo, known as type 2c, was first isolated in Italy back in
2000/2001, but nobody worried about it until the virus hit in the US in
2006.
With all the dogs being imported from Europe and Asia (China is really into
breeding European GSD's), I don't understand why American Veterinarian
health officials weren't worried about this strain of Parvo which the US CPV
vaccines didn't cover.
