Hunte is not a member at the moment...the unanimous vote was to
agree that the January meeting was invalid. Hopefully, Hunte will not
get sufficient votes in April and will not become a member. In the
meantime, there is the matter of our Delegate ignoring a directive from
the President of the Club. That should be the first matter attended
to, and it should be attended to immediately.
I just got off the phone with one of the Delegates who'd told me
about the letter endorsing Carmen. The letter he received was
postmarked Atlanta,
and dated February 27. I find it an interesting coincidence that that
was the original date set for the conference call meeting....and well
after the controversy
about Hunte was known throughout the dog world.
This Delegate said that the only way to negate the influence of this
letter would be to remove Carmen as the GSDCA Delegate before the next
Delegates'
meeting, which is one week from tomorrow...8 days away. He suggested
that the Board send a registered letter to the Secretary of the AKC
saying that
Carmen has been removed as our Delegate. He also said that there should
be a fax sent as well...but the registered letter would do the job, if
that is the
job we want done. If Carmen sent the letter on February 27, it would be
interesting to know the date Lew told him not to send it.
I am not running for office, in fact, wouldn't take an office...and
I don't have any personal agenda at all. If we anyone is looking for
people who have private agendas, they need look no further than our
current Delegate. There is no time to fritter around (to use Tony's
phrase) about this. If Carmen is not removed, then the endorsement
stands, because there is not enough time to withdraw it.
As it is, the GSDCA is bound to be a hot topic at the Delegates'
meeting...since most people tend to discuss in small groups, it will
just be something to laugh at and make fun of, by those Delegates who
know that Carmen sent the letter himself (and they do know it) without
permission from the Board or even the President, and this club, which is
already a laughing stock because of the Hunte issue, will be a complete
joke in the dog world.

would think.
