Bravo...it's too bad the new comers and the ones who have been in the breed
for only a short period of time and think they know enough to judge...pity
them and the bills they pay for their glass houses, for they have many years
to go and mountains to climb to accomplish what this man has, personally
from my glass house, I can't condemn. For I too have made bad decisions,
broken rules and have been called to the table on them and he was one good
person who stuck up for me; but then again he has known me since I was in
diapers. That's what I call longevity in the breed.

.........all the things that this man did for the GSd, for dogs in general,
for the GSDCA.
.........how hard he fought against BSL and how much of the good legislation
he actually drafted for municipalities over the years.
.........how much he worked to get Working Dogs accepted by the AKC
.........the efforts it took to push the idea of Back-to-back specialties
through AKC
.........his assistance in getting all-breed performance events approved at
specialty shows so that GSD clubs could actually afford to offer obedience
and
rally.
........This is to mention just a few.
I find it very sad that so many seem to be rejoicing in the downfall of a
man
who dedicated most of his life to this breed. He definitely messed up and
for
those who have wanted to 'get him' for years, the party's on I'm sure but
the
newcomers on the list who want to help kick this man while he's
down..........if you do half as much for this breed and this club during
your time in dogs,
you'll eventually have an understanding of what a sad day this truly is in
the history of our breed.
It is NOT something to be rejoicing over. It is truly a sad, sad day to lose
someone from a position of influence who did so much good for so long even
though it may be by his own failings at this time.
I think some dignity and reserve would be good things to use in handling
this
regardless of personal feelings.
