Terry is correct....the FCI standard calls for high wither and a straight back.
In fact, the FCI standard pretty much describes the AKC standard but with more
verbiage. The problem the Kennel Club is addressing is that European judges
are used to seeing the exaggerated roach/ top line and persist in rewarding it.
Last years Best of Breed GSD was a caricature of the standard and almost
unable to move. Those judges would not know what to do with Rumor.

I understand that Joan. Just wanted to clarify what we follow here so there
is no confusion.

The German Shepherd Dog is judged by the FCI standard in the UK and it's a

QUOTE from crufts site on RUMOR
Meanwhile, a group campaigning for the breed to be split, with the Alsatian
recognised separately, claimed that the GSD who was best in show at
Westminster would be overlooked at Crufts because she adheres to the breed
Standard. The Alsatian Breed Campaign claimed that the owners of Gr Ch
Lockenhaus’ Rumor Has It v Kenlyn would be wasting their entry fee.
Straight topline
It was unlikely Rumor would be seen competing at Crufts, it said, not least
because of her ‘straight topline’ which it claimed would rule her out of
contention.
