According to the makers of Clavamox, Pfizer: "Safety in pregnant or breeding animals has not been determined" Potentiated Penicillins ( which is what Clavamox is ) should NEVER be given to a pregnant bitch. Safety of its use in pregnant or breeding animals has never been determined although many vets will give it anyway if the dog is just being bred when the medication is prescribed. It crosses into developing fetuses and it can be passed to the puppies through mom's milk when nursing. http://www.peteducation.com/article.cfm?cls=0&cat=1303&articleid=856 Drugs to Avoid in Pregnant or Nursing Dogs {HYPERLINK "author.cfm?cls=0&cat=0&art=856&ath=10"}Holly Nash, DVM, MS Veterinary Services Department, Drs.
