Kris bought Nicole at a NE Futurity when she (Nicole) was only 3.5 months
old. But it wasn't really a total "shot in the dark". The puppy was dark, a
beautiful mover with a great topline and a great attitude just like her
parents.
Many people thought her dam, Ch Masstana's Mercedes, was one of the best
movers in the country (certainly we did!). So buying a beautiful moving bitch
out
of her took out some of the risk.
We took her up to the futurity to see if anyone would be interested in
co-owning her and almost changed our mind when we saw her going around the
outside
of the ring (one of those things I like to do when I have a beautiful puppy!).
But we had already choosen her sister, Nika, as the one we would keep, so when
Kris expressed an interest we were very happy. Kris has a good eye and she
told us that she would finish and in fact she did turn out to be quite
finishable. It's too bad that she injured herself because she would have been
our
Mercedes 2nd champion. But when that didn't work out Kris and Frank just bred
her
to their own ROM male and she produced MV, Select Ex, Ch Winsomes Woody
Bearelson and went onto her ROM.
PS: If you ever wanted to have a great co owner, trust the Fasano's. They
treated us great. And if the dog is finishable and worthy, they will do the
job. And have fun while they are at it! We should all do the same.
