Not flamed at all. It isn't the desire for L.A. to have dogs
neutered/spayed that is the problem, it's the invasion into the private lives
of their
citizens that is. The MANDATORY s/n Microchip, etc.
I hope all my facts are correct. I'm sure I'll be told if they are not.

Fact: It may be that the shelters are overflowing, but statistically, there
is actually LESS dogs/per population that 10 years ago, and that number is
going down annually.
Fact: Microchipping (another mandatory requirement) is not so much for the
lost dog, as it is for the compiled data of AControl and for future $$ of the
Microchip companies
Fact: Right now, 75% of dogs are nuetered/spayed without being mandatory.
Those that should be (those that you are discussing, the mixed breeds, the
ByBreeders) won't follow the law, but those that are legitimate will be placed
under onerous regulations.
(side note: Having an Animal Control person come to your house and judge
whether you can breed your dog or not? Having your premises inspected because
you have 2 or 3 dogs intact and be told how the dogs are to be kenneled?
What if my dog barks at the AC person and that person decides my dog is
aggressive and says I can't breed him/her? )
And not finally, but also, there are breeds out there that are being
developed, whether we like it or not, (Designer Dogs). Are we to mandate
their
breeding programs, no matter our disdain for them?
How about dogs that are not accepted for AKC/UKC Registration? There are
plenty of ways to get around it, but all AC has to do is say that , NO, ARBA is
not recognized by us...or Coton Du Tulear KC or Jack Russel KC. And if the
club doesn't have an ENFORCEABLE ethics code??? Does GSDC?
There are a lot of statistics out there and ARistas are quoting them much
like some quote the bible, picking and choosing for their own message. I
decry
the full shelters, but not to the point that I am willing to have 'policemen'
come to my house and tell me what I may or may not do with my own property.
