Now wait a minute.
Evan, I adore you and your commentary, especially on the List. But how can you 
possibly know - or even 
speculate - that this is what occurs on the field?
When I imagine it, our guys are busting their butts with their dogs, while 
wearing red, white and blue. 
And that in and of itself is a thing of beauty.
WDA members who I have met and spoken to about American-bred dogs admit they 
know very little. They are as 
curious about us as I am about them. I HAVE bred to their dogs - and purchased 
their dogs - and will 
continue to do so. I believe they have so many great things to offer our 
American lines.
And for the record, many of those German-bred dogs have the same issues 
described below. Their breeders
know it and will tell you about it.
My experience has been that those who truly love the breed - on both sides of 
the fence - do not care 
if it is a working dog or a show dog, from Germany or the US, so long as it 
fulfills the purpose for which 
it was bred.
Lastly, this event especially should be supported. Not because the team will 
compete and then praise our 
American show dogs, but because it is OUR team, no matter the type of German 
Shepherd we choose to breed. 
We should support each handler and dog for countless hours of work and 
formidable dedication, for 
accomplishing what very few ever may. Whether or not you (a generic "you") 
choose to participate in 
that venue is irrelevant.
