After all those cold nasty winters in Pittsburgh and DC, I try very hard to to
complain when the temperatures get into the 50's at night, or even the 40's. I
remember being relieved that temps got over freezing all too often.
But I love Miami, even if it is a BAD winter, here it is never AS bad as most
other places. No more ice storms, or roof damage from ice creeping up under
the shingles. No 10 layers just to get the dogs outside for 10 minutes of
BBBRRRRRRR and obedience. And no where near as much mud when things thaw out.
On the flip side, try keeping a decent coat on a dog down here.

We went from -20F last week to a beautiful 33.4F today. We've had about two
feet of snow in the last couple of weeks but it was really really light
snow. Today, we had 4" but it is really wet snow so we should have a
really
great base now for the skidoo trails and the downhills. We haven't had
this
much snow before Christmas for years. My husband took the skidoo out today
to make trails for the dogs to run. He must have gotten stuck at least 6
times but once this freezes again, I'll have some lovely walking trails.
Time to get the snowshoes out! Now as long as our roofs don't collapse
from
the weight of all that wet snow, we'll be in fine shape.

Glad I am not there with the pollens, Mo. <G>
I think usually our chill factor is about the same as our temp . ( where is
our Colorado weather lady ) but today it seems colder than ten . I was out
in my sub zero snow suit and was still chilled .
Today I am thinking about adding onto my house and put in a dog pen room ,
now if I can just find the money .

For the time being it is 78 here in central Texas with a heat index of 82
with the over 50% humidity! Never thought I'd do it, but, I flipped the AC
on. We are getting winds gusting to 40 mph and the cedar count is off the
wall. We did have some glorious nights that got to freezing for at least 2
hours. Mo
