I have a question for the list. Over the weekend, in an accident playing with my other dog, my foundation bitch had her two front teeth on the top jaw broken. After a visit to the vet, I found that the damage was irreversible and that the teeth must be removed. There is no option to salvage. Of what's left of the teeth, one is broken in half all the way to the base of the root and the other is broken down to the root. I asked about a root canal or crown, but the vet said beyond the expense, the science isn't perfected with dogs and probably wouldn't help. I spoke with Jack Reed and he said he was able to finish one dog with this same accident. I was wondering if others have been able to finish dogs that have lost teeth in a accident. The vet said the front teeth are never missing genetically and it should not disqualify her. However, to the initial glance from a judge, I fear it may give the illusion of an overbite. I am trying to decide if it's worth continuing to show her, so I would love to hear from anyone who's had this happen. Thanks in advance.
