I haven't ever kept a "Breeder Diary", but it made me think of the best helper-book that explains ALL aspects of breeding--there are even chapters that go into who first bred dogs, courtship and mating, whelping problems, what to do, the X and Y of breeding and the raising of pups. I was given this book when planning my first litter 30 years ago. It's called DOG BREEDING FOR PROFESSIONALS, by Dr. Herbert Richards. I believe it's a book both newbies and oldbies should have. (I KNOW this wasn't what the original poster had in mind, but it made me think of THIS invaluable book.)
