[ SHOWGSD-L ] Board Stance on Issues?

It is the responsibility of the members of the Board to vote on any
issue before it FIRST of all with the best interest of the BREED as
their primary criteria, secondly with the best interests of the
MEMBERS of the club in mind, and lastly with the interests of the
organization in mind.
It is the responsibility of the membership to let the Board and
Officers know how they feel on issues, to elect representatives that
they feel will evaluate issues based on the three criteria above, and
to bring issues important to the breed, the membership and the club
to their attention.
Each issue must be decided by a majority of the sitting officers and
board. We cannot, on the national level, decide each issue by a
majority of the membership.
If you do not feel that the sitting officers and board are making
decisions based on the best interests of the breed, the membership,
or the club, then it is your responsibility to elect replacements who
will.
Even if every board member is a reasonable, and open minded
representative, there are bound to be differences of opinion about
what is in the best interests of the breed, the membership, and the
club.
All I ask is that each of our representatives be willing to explain
how their positions on important issues are in the best interests of
the breed, the membership, and the club. I don't need to agree with
them to think they are doing a good job.
