I too, am upset about the review going bi monthly, at least its better then
quarterly : ) I am trying to sit back and be reasonable and practical about
this decision. I look forward to receiving the review every month. However,
like someone said a while back, you can go through it in 10 minutes right now.
Lets face it advertising and articles are not plentiful.
Folks our country is not in a good place right now and many people are
struggling to keep their homes and food on the table. Cuts are going on
everywhere, personal and industry. Whether it is mismanagement of funds by our
club or just the economy we have a deficit to take care of. I think most of
the board is trying to do that, I do think a little more transparency is needed
to the members, it is our club and we need to know what is going on. Hopefully
in a few years the review can be improved with more advertising, articles and
special interests. We need to look at other clubs who put out a publication
and see what they charge, what is published etc. Advertising costs need to be
lowered to make it more affordable and more interesting articles need to be
incorporated, health, training, education, obedience etc.. Since we are
hosting the World Trials it would have been nice to have articles in the review
regarding what goes on at this event etc. there are many of us that do not have
a clue, we have a couple of years how about incorporating that info. Which
brings up the World Trials and the expense, I hope that the board knew what
they were doing when they agreed to this and maybe at the time we could have
afforded it. I am very leery at this time what this will do to the club and
hoping it will be okay. I guess its like the stock market, do you pull now or
hope for it to get better down the road.
We are all concerned and changes are never easy but I am trying real hard to
look at this from a different angle. Who knows later down the road the Review
could come back to the way it use to be and hopefully back to a monthly
publication.
There were a few other things in the BOG that I have a problem with and I am
still working on being reasonable and practical...... : )

I joined the club to "support" too--with my entries and by having
SDs. I joined for The Review. What I DO NOT care for is the blatant
isregard to the membership when it comes to making "big" decisions
ie making The Review bi-monthly.) Remember your history lessons--how
he "great unwashed" (common people) blindly followed the malevolent
ictators in history. Are we, as members of the GSDCA, just supposed
o "take it" and accept the crumbs the elite serves up? Are we
upposed to blindly follow, without questions, without input?
