Hi Bill,
Thanks for your support of the Futurity and the changes we are trying to
implement. Both Kathleen Strong and Christine Grainger have sent suggestions
in writting which will be passed on to Amy & I am sure Amy and the Futurity
Committee will be interested to see these suggestions.
Best Regards
Nancy

  Nancy - thanks for your update. I wish to comment on the hopeful change back
to Club Superintended Futurities - The use of a professional Superintendent
has always rankled me, for it takes away a function which really energizes a
clubs' membership over an entire year period. This is so valuable to the club,
for there are few projects which have the need for so many participants;
allowing many new and fringe members to join in the work and giving them the
feeling of really belonging to the club. A sucessful Futurity then really
cements the membership and leads to a club functioning well for years to come.
This is all negated when you hire someone to do the work, as it ends up with
one or two individuals in the club being concerned with the Futurity during the
whole year, and usually a poorly attended work crew on the day of the event.
