Heehee, that's the nature of recessives. It's like someone with a herd of sorrel or chestnut horses. If that's how they breed (chestnut to chestnut) that's ALL they're going to get! I don't care if there were greys, palominos, or grullas in the background; breed chestnut to chestnut (sorrel), and you'll get chestnut. Or fawn Boxer to fawn Boxer - you'll only be getting fawns, even if you Really Like looking at brindles. Once you've got blacks, that's all you'll have (if your dogs don't carry for dilutes or white) unless you breed to another color.
