If you breed a black to a black you will get only blacks. However if you breed
a black to a b/t who carries the black recessive you would probably get some
black puppies but not fifty percent as some one had said. I bred my Zurich
daughter who had solid black littermates to my Harley who had at least one
black puppy in every litter that he sired hoping for black babies and got only
ONE! This particular subject is of special interest to me because I have three
black dogs ( two bitches and one male ) and one dark black and tan who should
carry the black recessive. I do not know that for sure ,it is only a guess
because he has only had one litter and he was bred with my one bitch who I know
does not carry the black gene. In about three years I am hoping to breed
nothing but solid black dogs simply because I love them.
