Yes, STATISTICALLY it is 50%.? However, that does not mean if you breed a Black
to a Black & Tan carrying the Black recessive that if you have 10 puppies you
will always get 5 blacks?& 5 b&t's.?? You could do that breeding and get any #
of each.? You could do the breeding once and get 5 & 5.? You could repeat it
and get 2 blacks?& 8 b&t's.? Over many litters of the same breeding you should
end up about 50/50.?
Also, in the above example the black parent ONLY has black genes to give, so
ALL black & tan offspring will carry the black recessive.?

You will get 50% blacks if one parent is solid black and the other is a black
and tan whose sire or dam was a solid black.
And yes, you can only get solid blacks if you breed one solid black to
another solid black (or a blue!)
