Lorraine Schowalter (one of our all-time top breeders) used to say that when
they blew to the skin they were going to have a good season.

Help me connect the dots please. Is the significance of blowing the coat
in a big way about not having to dedicate energy to producing protein for hair
and that energy goes into pups?
