It has been so many years that it is difficult for me to remember, exactly
when. We had a nice litter and one male was a monorchid and we sold him as a
pet. Month's later they came to visit us to show off the dog. We thought he
looked great and mentioned to bad about the testical, they told us it was
down. We couldn't believe it, they were right it was.

Another incident years ago, my husband was an AKC licensed handler and he
conducted all breed confirmation classes for the Del Valle Dog Club of
Livermore. He had a man come to class with his dog and when Russ (my
husband ) did the exam, he found only one testical. He spoke to the owner
handler about that. The owner said "Oh, is he doing that again ? " gave him
a slap on his back, then asked my husband to check again and sure enough
there were 2 . It wasn't a GSD, and I don't recall the breed at the moment.
The man and his dog continued with the classes and the testicals were there
each time my husband examined him.

My husband and I always mentioned that incident to people who were concerned
about the testicles in their own dogs. I guess one could say "never say
never", at least on occasion. but I think I would also add, "don't get your
hopes up".
