Okay - I understand that club business is important, but I would like to talk GSD structure. I have a question on correct toplines in this breed. I have read the standard, looked at many, many reviews, etc.. I know GSD are supposed to be smooth, flowing lines.. What is the correct topline for a GSD? I look at some dogs who I think have beautiful toplines with proper slope and beautiful croups - then I read a review of a specialty and what I am seeing doesn't match at all. Then I see a dog who puts a buckle in the middle of his back while either gaiting or stacked and it is classified as a good topline - which doesn't seem right. There are also the dogs, including a couple of BIS winners that drop their heads (correct for all trotting dogs) and then have a drop off behind the withers and then a hump. I assume some of the humps are related to HOW they are handled and some MIGHT be age related. If they are age related, when do they outgrow them? I know what I like and I think I know what is correct, but what might I be missing?
