Yes....trouble getting anything from the Blog...but Evan/Dania's post will
be on it when it does come up.
WOW! Itâ??s a new show, tremendous excitement, and girls all dressed up in
glitter. A lot of tension and they are going in the ring with the bitches,
and
the female dogs as well. Lots of bells and whistles already, and everyone
laughing and smiling. Donna just came by and showed me the new whistle.
Cappy
came by to wish mewell, and everyone is here. There are the Kishs, Yolanda
Nikki, Cathy Potter, Paul Root, Ann Schultz, Ed Barritt, Keven Renolds,
Rqandy
Darnell, and that is just who is in front of me.
RUMOR CONTROL: The Guz and Helen withdrew, and so Mr. Root is your new
board
member, and Gary the Vice President.
They are in the ring, and the line-up takes 2/3 of the ring. Ken is
writing
down what he is doing, and maybe making notes already. He has two Ring
Stewards in front of him, and I donâ??t see Bob yet. I feel the excitement,
and all
the handlers are still in jakets, and the ladies must have gone shopping,
what a fashion statement this year. More than before. Now Ken has three
people
in the center with him, and he is making an announcement. I canâ??t hear him.
He is announcing that he wants everyone to follow his instructions. He
wants
no performance enhancement during the temperament exam and he wants the
dogs
to go around on â??the same pageâ?? and he will fault anyone who doesnâ??t
get
it.
He says, â??Kent got itâ?? and everyone laughed. He is going to start with a
group of six, and bring them in one group at a time. He will do
temperament
first. There they go out of the ring, and the first six are there.
Lew and I were talking and he said someone complained about something I
said. I hope everyone knows I do not expect anyone to listen to what I say,
or to
depend on it for accuracy in any way. Ken is standing in the ring in a
perfectly fitting tux, clearly one he didnâ??t rent. The first bitch is
beautiful,
Firecracker with Tim Trap. If that is what today is about, it is going to
be
a long day. Paul the Board Member, (how we now have to refer to him in the
future), is standing next to me.
Now it has quieted down. I think everyone knows it is going to be a while
before things start to heat up. George is in there and setting up his bitch.
Ken
stands with his hands clasped in front of him. Now Tammy and Ann Schultz
are here and looking good.. Tom McPheron just walked by and ther goes
George
around the ring and the crowd likes that bitch. I seel Michal Cheeks
talking
to Al Martin.
There goes Patti, and a crowd favorite, Double Trouble. Ken walks up to
the
next bitch with, and goes over her. It is Azeri and very nice side gait,
with Ken Tank. Charley Mardez came by to let me know he was sorry I did not
win, and it was good to see him again.
I see Jimie with a number on, and now the Ben daughter is in the ring,
Champion Diana, and I applauded. And now Ken asks them to take them around
one
more time, and walks over to give some direction. He hitches up his pants
and
there they go, all together. Lots of bells, and they look good. The first
one
should make the cut. Sheryl Brocket just came by and Kent is standing in
front with Laurie and Ann. Laurie is showing Happy, and they should be
nervous, she is the bitch to beat.
HERE COMES DANIA
Well.... I guess I was roped in once more and here I am helping report for
the bitches judging (oooops.... that was a slip of the tongue - hehehehehe)
Lots of people standing in front of the announcer stand - donâ??t know that I
can
see anything to report. The arena is wonderful and the atmosphere is very
relaxed - lots of people milling around (most of them in front of this
table).
I think this is the second group of bitches - in the first group I saw two
bitches that I really liked (Dayglyns Knickerbocker Glory and Crosswinds
Whole Lotta Luv - I could not see the rest. The second group is now here
and I
see Jimmy with Kaleefs Geneva and Diane Brown with Rowlands in the Name of
Love and Debbie James with Eagle Valleys Honey Girl - again I canâ??t see the
rest of the bitches. Now I ask some people to move so I can see better
(they
are nice and do so). Here comes the third group: Todorhaus Chablis with
Reggie, Carettis Angelina with Loren, Elite Design Chelsey with Kent;
Chantillys
Holida Compadre with Sergio, Shawn with Abbaway Shep Haven Casino, Alex
with
Elite Design Chelsey, Kent with Falcons Welove Liberty and I think that is
the
third group. Ken announced at the beginning of the judging that he would
not
tolerate any double handling during the individual examination - so far...
so good.... Loren is going around and is getting a lot of applause. Kent
is
now in the middle of the ring for the coming and going - he has to do it
twice... he sure can move fast - there he goes around and I see Jeff Maebus
applauding and whole lot of other people doing same (uhuum.. Why does Jeff
looks
so serious? He is sure producing some beautiful animals). There goes Alex
with Elite Design - she looks good and goes nice and easy. Darn it - the
Von
Stephanitz trophy is sitting right in front of me and is also blocking my
view
- I think it is a conspiracy so that I canâ??t report to you guys <G> Next
Group is in, and in the front is Christie with Suros Ms Bailey, then Steve
Barbash (the winner of last yearâ??s Tyranosorous Handler contest) with
Spotlite
Cloverlyn April Fool, then Kaleef Justine with J.R. followed by Mishka
Bennett
with Kaleefâ??s Havoc. Scott Yergin takes Jerrwens Madison Avenue around
and
there is a lot of applause and she is followed by Kaleefs Gracie with Terry
Hower (lots of applause also).
Here comes the fifth group - the first bitch is is Jagans Happyunoit with
Lori Bella and the crowd goes crazy; then comes Kaleefs Jezabel with Abbey
Hathaway; now comes The Guz (for all those California people - this is what
we,
Easterners, call Jerry Guzman) with Castlehills Tuff Cookie (and the
California people hoop and holler). Now in the middle of the ring is Bill
Tank with
Midnight Suns Calypso. And Bill Basu is standing by the announcers table
and
he is flexing his legs and stepping up and down... looks like it would hurt
but I guess he is stretching. And I see Norma talking to Joan Ford who
looks
absolutely MARVELOUS.... (yep, I remember Billy Crystal). And now Ken
Cunningham is passing by. Liz Oster goes in with Jerrwens Serindipity who is
co-owned by Dr. Perez Gurri (the Cuban contingency is applauding - we do
have to
stick together - heheheh) WOW - there is Nancy Godek in the middle of the
ring with Rivendells on the Money ... so good to see her back in the ring
fit
and ready to go. And now the whole crowd is back in front of the table and
I
canâ??t see who is in the ring. The next group came in and is led by
Christine Sparaga wearing a beautiful melon colored jacket (what a pretty
girl and
such good hands with the dogs) - she has Aramist Jazmin of Bodega. Jeff
Pyle
is in with Breals Easy Does It and then comes Hadoris When Its Loven with
Kelly Savalas; And there comes Art Sinclair with Rivendells Magnolia and
then
Bill Basu with Utopias Finish Line of Mariner. Now it is Bart with
Woodcliffs
BB By Caretti.....
And Loren is here and she says she should win the whole Shabang....
Because
she looks GOOOD.... hehehehehehehhee And Evan agrees with me.... now we
should just tell Tedi and see what she really thinks about this whole affair
(uhhmmmm was this a slip of the tongue?)
The next group is now in and is led by Adorher Diamond Lil. Now it is Mike
Sherman with Tazzmans it wasnâ??t Me - the crowd likes this one. And then
Joanne Corbin with Hylocks Chastity of Joelle followed by Solanas Into the
Fire
with Sean and then Ropajas Chateau Beaujolais (Spanish and French name?)and
she is with Jamie Klute. And Bob Grady comes by the table and wearing his
ever
so wonderful white suit and white shoes (it is good to see him again in good
spirits and good health - no more smoking, my friend). There goes Gregg
Eschette with Cresthavens DejaVu (again, happy to see him also... he has
been
such an outstanding help during the terrible New Orleans Katrina tragedy).
The
group goes around and once again, Ken leaves them as they came in (he has
been taking notes in a little black book).
There comes another group and this one is led by Joelles Take Another Look
and then Aramist Zarzuela of Gitana with Olivia (that girl is Gooood) and
then
Kaleefs Angel Eyes followed by Stonekrofts Jaze Jewel.. And , then
Marquis Here I am of Surigo with Kathy Darnell, then Rowlands in the Name
of Love
(Veterans Bitch) with Christie Halliday and the crowd goes crazy - good to
see
our seniors showing off with the young kids. And the Sr Veteran Bitch is
strutting her stuff like she was a kid.. Leslie is in with Cypress
Willowlake
Kharizma - I think she should have been in one of the earlier groups.
And
now we are finished all the individuals.
We are now down to the hard stuff - Ken brought the first group in and is
taking them around twice - Evan is moaning and saying he should be out
looking
for a handler for Connor. The bitches are now stacked and Ken is looking
them over - he pulls Double Trouble with Patti and puts her in front and
then
Dayglyns Knickerboker and Cathlin of Azerand - he puts these three in the
good
pile corner. The rest go to another corner. There comes the second group
and is led by Al Martin with Edhem She is All that - someone mutters behind
me
that she is not going to make the cut. Ken pulled Depahls Brandy and Jimmy
with Geneva and then Al Martinwith Edhens She is All that (proving someone
wrong).
Now the third group is in and Kenâ??s bitch is looking good (Welove Liberty)
and also Alex (with Chelsey Elite Design) - they go around twice and Ken
pulls
out o the front Kent and Alex and Loren with Debric Carettis Angelina. The
crwod Applauds for Chablis Evil Ways. He puts Angelina in fornt. He puts
in
the good corner: He pulled Sean with Shep haven Casino Royal, Angelina,
Libery and Chelsey.
There comes the next group and Madison Avenue with Scott is looking really
good. The group makes it around the ring twice. We were right, he pulls
in
front Madison Avenue and Kaleefs Gracie and Suros Ms Bailey and Justine -
they
go to the good corner. There comes the other group - the crowd is claping
hard for Happyunoit - what a beautiful bitch (what do they say? Quality
Begets Quality?). The crowd is cheering on and he puts Happy up front and
then
Tuff Cookie - he asks the other four to move around and the crowd is coming
alive and he pulls in Abby Hathaway with Kaleefs Jezabel. All three go to
the
good corner. It looks like he is keeping three out of each of group - or
at
least that is the pattern.
Next group is in and is led by Christina Sparaza melon colored jacket - the
crowd likes Magnolia. Ken pulls out Easy Does it and BB by Caretti. He
also
moves Hadoris When Its Love (I know that Ricky is up there smiling and
happy) These three go to the good corner. Bob Grady is losing his voice
and
whispering that the next group should come up. Ken pulls out Solanas Into
The
Fire (Sean), Tazzmans It Wasnt Me and Hylocks Chastity - these three go to
the
good corner. If my theory of three in each group comes true - there should
be 24 bitches in the good pile by the end of his first cut. We shall see...
And now comes the next group and I hear a lot of â??that is a good girl
screams
â?? - words of encouragement. I think the WB is looking good and so does
Olivias bitch and also the Veterans Bitch. He pulls Oliviaâ??s bitch
(Zarzuela)
and then the WB (Here I am) and then Solanaâ??s Into The Fire.
We are now looking at the last group with the move ups and some who were
out
of order. And ken pulls out Kaleef Jade of Tamar with Lennie and Cypress
Willowlake Kharizma with Leslie. I guess he broke my plans by pulling only
two
from this last group. Now the judge and a couple of his stewards are
conferencing in the middle of the ring.
Ken is now going back and reviewing his originals discards ... and this is
a
bad word because there are truly some beautiful bitches in this group. He
brings in the first ten and there is not a crack of a smile in the judgeâ??s
face - I wonder if this means anything. He pulls in Rowlands in the Name
of
Love with Diane Brown and puts her in the good group - the rest went out.
The
next group comes back in and we comment of how many hopes, money and wishes
are tied up in the middle of that ring... hoping for one more chance before
they are dismissed - from this group, he pulls Magnoliia and Yazmin of
Bodega.
The rest go out of the ring.
All that is left now is his Good Group - I have no idea how many are left
in
- maybe twenty five - he started with 52 bitches in the ring - there were a
few absentees but some move ups.. Ken brings in the first six and Patti is
leading with Double Trouble, followed by Georgie with Dayglyn Knickerbocker
and
then Tim Trapp with Cathin Azeri of Hallmark and then Jimmy with Kaleefs
Geneva Aeval. He pulls those four and is making â??The Super Good
Cornerâ??
.
The next group comes in with Al Martin starting this group. He pulled
Liberty
with Kent, Scott with Madison Avene and Elite Design with Alex - He takes
this group to â??The Super Good Cornerâ??. And here comes the next group of
the
Good Group (Arenâ??t you getting confused yet?) and they move around the ring
and
Happyuonoit is pulled in front together with Kaleefs Gracie of Kenlyn with
Terry and Castlehills Tuff Cookie with Jerry - once again they go to The
Super
Corner. He keeps the WB
Ohhhh... and now Norma is here telling me something about a conspiracy
against the West Coast handlers and her plans to get a cap pistol to shoot
over
the top of some dogs and test their temperament (ohhh my my my) The next
group
is in and from this group he pulls Solanas into the Fire, BB By Caretti,
Hadoris When Its Love and Breal Easy Does it (I am sooooo happy for Manny)
. The
next group comes in and this is his last Good Group - see, I have developed
a
schedule of quality â??The Good Groupâ?? and The â??Super Good Groupâ??. It
is
now 12:30pm and we are no where near the end of bitches - I am starving and
have a terrible headache.
He is reviewing the fourteen bitches that he dismissed from the Good Group
and pulls in Firecracker from this group and Tazzmans It wasnt Me.
So now there are twenty bitches in the ring - they go the whole length of
the ring - there are some beautiful bitches in there.
AND NOW HERE COMES EVAN....
We have 20 and Norma is stuck to our table. I think Ken should give 20
selects. Frankly if anyone thinks the breed is in trouble, they should look
at
this group of bitches. What a beautiful type and style. Ken is talking ot
his
ring steward, and all the doubler handlers are getting in position. The
handlers hae them set up and Ken is looking down the line and tells them to
move
over. He wants them at the other end, and moves them all over to the other
side. They were against the wall, and now, against the white fence. After
three cuts, here we are.
He walks down the line with his hands clasped in front and gives everyone a
good look, and now he walks to the front and gives them some directions and
walks back repeating himself. Patti in front and there they go, then Ken,
Trish, Jimmy, Kent, Alex, Scotty, Laurie, Jerry, and ...........Patty Breau
just
went down, and holding her knee. She is being held up by Tom Mesdag and
Leslie, and they sit her down, the crowd applauds her, and Ken is waiting ot
see
what we are going to do.
I know that feeling and I did not like to hear applause when they carried
me
out of the ring. Patti is standing up, limps out takes her number off,a nd
is walking it off, still in the ring and she is doing bettter it seems,
talking to Leslie, and walks towards the entry and kneels down, and gets up,
and
wants her number back, talking to Leslie,a nd they are discussing it, and
she
is flexing her knee, bends downa nd ties her soe, and Tom Mesdag goes over,
and Pattie stands pts the number back on. She takes the bitch and there
she
goes back in line. Now the crowd applauds.
Ken and Tom are checking her, and no, she is going out. Maybe the best
idea, you can do some real harm that way. And I know she is disapointed.
She is
standing outside, spraying her dog, and is staying in the ring. She is not
going out. Ken may have put her in another group.
Nine go around. Ken stops the group, and looks them over, and he looks
back
and to the front. He pulls up Hppy and puts her in second behind Ken Tank.
He pulls out Scottie and he is in fifth, and Jimmy is in fifth in this
group.
Ken just made notes, and now he wants the second group. He didnâ??t cut
anyone.
Patty has her shoe off, and standing off to the side. The next group is in
there. They wrapped an ankle, she changed shoes and is going back in, and
she
is moving just fine. What a response from the crowd. She has Marquinâ??s
Double
Trouble, and I am sure the owners are happy.
There they al go, with Patty at the end, and she looks like she is just
fine.
Patty goes to the front. What a good thing. Ken looks them over, and walks
down the line and stands to look at a few, and now at the end. Now he
walks
back to the front and tells them to go around to the other group and stop.
All the keepers set up, and Ken walks to each one, looks them over and the
crowd lets him know which one they want. He stops in front of each one.
Right
now Kent is in front Liberty, then Ken with Azeri, then Lori with Happy and
he pulls them out like that. Fourth is Trish with Brandy, and Jimmy in
fifthe with Geneva. Ken keeps pulling and rearranging them, and he tells
them to
stand back and he wants to look at the last ten to see what is a keeper.
Dorothy Lynn is here to tell me what is going on, as I canâ??t see anything.
Now
he lines them up again, and he has 11 in the keepers,a nd he is looking
those
over. He looks a bit stern, and now he goes to his second group, and out
they
go. After Jimmy is Madison Avenue, then Easy Does It, then Tuff Cookie,
Double Trouble, then the winnerâ??s bitch Here I Am and after her is Grace,
at the
end is Easy Does It, so something is wrong. Blame Dorothy. He looks them
over goes to the end, and is frowning, and he seems to be ready to make a
change again, and there he goes to the front and looks at Madison Avenue,
and now
back down the line, and he likes Pattiâ??s bitch, and he goes to the front
and
is directing wants to see the last seven together. The first four stay the
way they are, and they take a pass and he moves Patti, to the front of that
group Double Trouble, in number eight in front of The Guz. Now they all
go
together. There are twelve, and still in that order.
They take another pass this time first five. He hasnâ??t changed them yet,
and
they all stack together, and Ken is looking them over, and there they go.
AND THAT IS IT.

Now it is time to change my clothes, take some asprin, and start to
streatch.
