Unless you have a kennel blind breeder. But I don't really want to go into
that. There must come a point where the owner who has promised to show the dog
has to be able to ask others about the dog's quality and whether or not such a
dog should continue in the show ring.
I have a dog that is showable. He has no disqualifying faults. But I never
expected him to be worthy of finishing, or even finishable. I had offers from
a few all breed handlers who swore they would finish him, but I grew up looking
at these dogs, and was not interested in hemeraging money for nothing.
Dexter is a lovely pet with a tremendous head and bone, he is not Ch. quality
and I was certain he would not be. I was brought up to see dogs as they are
and will be. I did not need anyone to tell me he was not worth finishing. But
if I had needed help, I would have gone to the breeder and several others for
judgement.
I gotta run, computer repair is here and I got lots to discuss.

the class, the breeder immediately told me that she was a pet and should

replace her with another puppy.
It wasn't written in the contract that she replace her....after all she
provided me with a puppy that had the POTENTIAL and with no disqualifying
faults just as the contract stated...however as many of you know...show homes
are hard to find and I guess she decided it was worth it to place another puppy
with me.
So for any one that is pressing on with a questionable show dog.....show the
breeder some respect and have the breeder attend one of the shows.....and let
them make the call....then there won't be any hard feelings or
misunderstandings about whether the buyer did everything they promised to do
before making the decision that the dog was not show quality afterall.

I am not in favor of show requirements, but given the number of dogs that
should and do not contribute to the future of our beloved breed, we must all do
whatever we can to insure that the truly good and great dogs get shown and
bred. And the rest should have spay/neuter contracts!

when you buy a pup that is considered showable, AND
everything with the pup turns out ok....both ears up,
no missing teeth, both testicles, hips and elbows are
prelimed, and they look as tho the dog will OFA at 2,
then the owner has an obligation to the breeder.
HOPEFULLY, it is also written in the contract.
