It's not a common infection, but it isn't rare.In humans it produces a black
fungal coating on the tongue, I haven't seen it in dogs, but I think a common
source is contaminated soil. It can be treated successfuly and very
inexpensively with BACTRIM (Trimethoprim/Sulfamethazole).
