Well, I won't disagree with you. Dax is now about 5 weeks away from her 15th
birthday. Standing still, she looks FANTASTIC. Very little muzzle gray, no
bald spots, coat glistens. She has control over her sphinter.
Okay, she's mostly deaf, and her hind legs give out on her periodically. She
sleeps a lot. She is on a raw diet, feeding now twice a day because I couldn't
keep weight on her with just one meal. Her suppliments are, among other things,
Omega 3-6-9 fish oils, and Glycoflex III. She has been on Rymidal for at least
a year now, but when I accidentally run out of these two supplements, her motor
function goes down fast, even on the NSAID. I do my best never to run out of
the suppliments! As long as she has these, she can still go up and down the
stairs to the dog yard, which is good, because she quite haughtily refused to
use the ramp I got for her. Put me right in my place, she did! She is still
the boss of everybody and the dog of my heart.
I am sooooo impressed with your weightlifting! With my FM and soft tissue
injuries, my idea of exercise is tapping buttons on the computer keyboard.
Now, if I was smart, I would do for myself what I do for Dax!

From 2002 to 2006, I spent approx. 10 to 15 hrs. 5 d/w lifting weights at
the gym, participating in weight training marathons (5 -6 hrs marathons,
workouts lasting 1 hour, hydrate and eat for 15 min, then start again for
the next hour and so forth. I began with the light weights of 5 lbs and
after 5 years, I'd moved up to working 30 lbs weights each arm. For an old
broad of 52 (back then), I was doing great. At around the 5 1/2 year mark,
my right thumb began to hurt, I was under attack and suddenly, I could no
longer hold even a 5 lb weight. I lost complete **pincher** ability between
my thumb and 4 fingers. I couldn't even open a clothes peg. Almost 2 years
of google digging, x-rays, ... Numerous tests.... nothing. My thumb pounded
at night and I lived on robaxecet and pain killers.
This past Christmas, my thumb stopped throbbing and I started weight
training (with 5 lbers again), and a smile on my face. My husband, Bas,
forced me to take his **Nutra Sea** EPA/DHA rich omega-3 supplement.
Expensive? Who bloody cares??? I'm not in pain anymore!!!
My husband is such a fart smeller.....opps, I mean smart feller, tee hee
He found the cure for what I think had to be immune mediated arthritis...
just exactly what our doggies get.
Here is a site I found showing how great this fish oil truly is......... I
m sure there's lots written about it.
I think I might just start my geriatric dogs on it.
