This reminded me of Warren and Nancy's dogs. They had two dogs they got
from us, and as the dogs got older they were inseparable. Navarro was the
older
male, and Twiggy, the bitch stayed together all the time. Navarro began to
age, and started to show signs of an older dog.
One day, after years when she never did dig, Twiggy began to dig a hole. She
worked on it, and nothing they could do would get her to stop. The next
morning, they found Navarro laying dead in the hole. It was not so deep he
could
not get out, but rather was lying peacefully at the bottom.
