This is a big problem with pasterns and Vets. I know of people whos Vet
wanted to splint the front legs, or operate. Many years ago I sold a puppy
and told the people the puppy was slightly down and gave the selenium and
Vit. E and told them how to use it. Even told them how long it would take
if they followed instructions.
In thinking about this a little further, maybe this is something our health
foundation can get involved in, or education. Perhaps with the money Purina
provides for education, our club could pioneer some information and provide
it to the AVMA to distribute to the vets in their newsletter/magazine. The
story of Ed's pup could be part of that information as an example of worse
case
scenario.
