If Mr, Huntes dogs are well taken care of is he any better or worse than some
who have tons of litters tons of dogs to sell who socializes them??How are they
being cared for??I

She is right about this
The way it stands now a signature and a check for 66 bucks is all that is
required. I know that when I joined moons ago I needed 2 people to sponsor me.
I think we should go back to that requirement.
Somewhere along the way the requirement was dropped. If Mr. Hunte's check is
good and he is in good standing with the AKC then he will be a member.
If we are going to rewrite the rules governing membership then we had better
be willing to live by them.

Most importantly -- we have a serious problem. The GSDCA cannot by virtue
of how the Bylaws are written and how the Policy and Procedures have been
violated for several administrations.
The Bylaws clearly state that new applicants must apply on forms provided by
the Board of Directors. For years (circa 2001-2003), the application was
changed where there are no endorsements required. This is violation of what
appears in the policy and procedures for that and current time period, and I
can not find a motion, 2nd or vote as to how this was changed -- however,
the 2nd part of the bylaw states that member applicants who are disapproved
by the Board may seek remedy by having their endorser present them at the
Next Annual meeting (at the National). IMO -- I will be very perturbed (as
in WILL SCREAM HOLY OLD H*LL) if the Board allows anyone to present this
person --- there's no endorsers on that application and therefore ***NO
ONE*** should able present them.
But that also leaves the Board in a pickle. This person (by virtue of the
bylaws) is already a member, albeit, without voting rights. To decline them
without their ability to have a remedy to appeal -- would cause a problem.
So, IMO, let the man be a member, but without voting rights, until some
member decides that they believe strongly enough to put up their $50.00 and
go the other way to expel them.
Beyond that - The other side of my problem with this particular person's
membership -- What has he done that is so much different than other people
who breed puppies for resale in large quantities and big bucks as a large
portion of their income? Some of these types are considered "pillars" in
the breed. Yes I realize he does it on a lot larger scale -- but he's also
regulated heavily by the USDA.
Personally, I don't like it that a person who's making their livelihood off
the mass breeding of dogs is already a member of this club without voting
rights. But it hasn't stopped a number of "breeders" from becoming members,
or becoming "pillars".
Change the bylaw to read that until the people have gone through the entire
process that they are not members, and then you'll be doing something.
Doing anything other than approving this particular member without voting
rights will put the club at risk, IMO.

I am submitting this critique in regards to the above mentioned subject to
say that I want to be on record as opposing membership to this person based
upon his breeding principles that are contrary to those that are set forth
in our National Club goals.
If Mister Hunte were to swear cease and desist in selling massed produced
German Shepherd puppy litters, then reconsideration for membership into the
Parent Club may be warranted.
The horror I see is that, if he becomes a member, he that he could sponsor
"new members" to join, entice existing members into his foldd and then have
access to those members litters. THINK ABOUT IT!!!

I hope this isn't too dramatic, but you all know weirder things have
happended.
