Respectfully I must disagree. I doubt that Lee Duncan would agree that at
this stage of the game "any" German Shepherd Dog would do especially since
his dogs were Silver Grey and not a traditional Black and Tan - a clear
difference.
However, I will record your vote as No-it doesn't matter. I do apreciate
your participation.
The Lassie movie in and of itself didn't mention that all of the Lassie dogs
have been males, however, if you visit www.Lassie.net or speak to Joan
Neiderhardt, you will learn it isn't a secret. Males were used from the
beginning largely due to coat retention.
Congrats to your husband on being a part of the filming of the Lassie
series. I am sure that was a delight.
