Any dog or puppy that goes home with rescue or a loving family is one dog or puppy that won't be recycled back into the 'system' or mass euthanized after. Janice I'm not so sure. Rescue is running the prices up and the following week, because there is more of a profit to be made, still more are taking the place of the dogs sold prior. Supply and demand...a little different than the starfish story. By saving the dogs in an auction today, at inflated prices, are rescues creating more of an incentive, more of a market for the next batch? It seems, unfortunately, that is exactly what's happening.... If the demand dries up, will the supply decrease? I don't know, just asking and basing my comments on what seems to be happening....
