Carol,
As far as showing my own dogs, no can do--62 years old and double knee
replacement surgery has taken care of that. (Even before the knee
surgery though, I had and continue to have, 2 left feet.) I have a
handler who understands ME and my dogs. I CAN show in obedience.
I think you have been doing a great job with the Futurity System.
However, as a 30+ year member of the GSDCA, I don't believe it is MY
club. I believe it is a club of the elite; sounds like a
contradiction, since I remain a member. But I still carry on and
support the club (through advertising and entering shows) because I
love the GSD. I have NOT had a litter in 4 years (breeding is scary),
yet advertise with the GSDCA online for $250 yearly and have a
Breeder's Ad in The Review for $50 yearly. These are things I can
afford to do, as a retired English teacher.
