Thank you Doris. You are right on point.
To answer your question - We had a newcomer (or should I say returner), Denise
Fox, show a bitch in the amateur futurity and the bitch looked awesome. She
was patient with a wild-child but listened to suggestions and had a nice hand
with the bitch. I could not have been more pleased with the performance. She
looked just as good in that Amateur event with Denise as she has with any
handler (except maybe myself!) LOL Just kidding!

Stop me if I am wrong, but my impression was that the Amateur Futurity
was open to handlers that were not professionals. I, for one, think it
would be interesting to see how a dog looked with an amateur, and if
handled by a pro in the regular Futurity, how they compared. There are
many amateurs who are excellent handlers, and it might be a good thing
for them, as it would showcase their talents. We all know that the pros
are the ones we are inclined to watch at the shows, be it
Futurity/Maturity or regular competition. The amateur Futurity gives an
opportunity to be really seen by the judge and the fancy. Why not give
these shows a chance? We don't need to keep them if they aren't
