I live in a rural area and have a well.
Just recently had a "transfer switch" attached to the electric panel in my
basement. This cost $685.00. It is fixed so that EVERYTHING in my 5 bedroom
house can be switched over to gasoline generator except the furnace, hot water
heater and elect. stove.
The generator I have is a Coleman 5500 watts. The well takes 220. There is
one switch just for the well and everything else is 110 and set on 4 different
switches. Really neat.
