Hi Everyone, Miss me???
Well, I'm at work today so I can go online. Wednesday night about 10:30 PM I
received a visit from a tornado. No, not the four legged kind - one of those
high altitude, wind whirling dervishes! Let me preface this with - I am fine.
The dogs are fine. It is a beautiful day today.......

I was talking on the phone with a friend when I noticed what I thought was hail
hitting the house - in July??? While still talking (takes a LOT to phase me) I
brought the dogs in, who were still out in their runs and got them settled, and
was starting their dinner when an alarm sounded on TV. I thought "great, so
now we get the storm warning" but Nooooo, it was a tornado warning so I
thought "Wow, someone is in trouble" until I saw the area "ROCKDALE COUNTY" at
which point I say "Gotta go, Bye" and hung up the phone to go get my big
flashlight. Then the lights went off and things started popping - against
the roof and side of the house and a couple of tremendous crashes that shook
the house to the foundation. Took almost ten minutes for the storm front to
pass during which time I kind of stayed in my "safe" spot and had a long
discussion with my maker!

End result? Well, five old growth pine trees twisted off about forty feet up -
like match sticks. Tops (30 feet or more in length) laying around the yard and
one on top of, and through, the roof. Bou cou damage to the tune of several
thousand dollars.

Moral of the story??? No, I'm not in Kansas OR over the rainbow. However,
it IS time to end some of the bickering and get down to real problem solving.
Time to tell your friends how you feel about them - "I LOVE you guys!"
Especially the ones I argue with!! And time to count all the good stuff
because you never know when you might just go off to see the wizard!

MY good stuff - the dogs are NOT afraid of storms. Nor are they gun shy! My
house is built on a SOLID foundation and the top is secured to the walls -
real, old fashioned, construction. Someone up there likes me! [Lots of folks
lost everything.] I am blessed with health, family, friends, and dogs.

Life is good!
