Wonderful update...love the water too having been raised in a lakeside
community on Lake Erie.
Almost got Ed to thinking about coming to the Canadian national but he has
other travel plans at
the same time so maybe next year.
Wish someone had had ice cream bars at our Ontario futurity beginning of
July...we were in the mid 90's
and sweltering..
Did have great laughs with Randy Chestnut judging....fun day. He certainly has
not lost his humour at all.
Linda Bankhead did a quick and efficient job and got us out of the heat quick.
Great discussion to start, basically the importance of balance versus extreme.
Balance never has to work hard to gait. Extreme usually does....difference too
between gaiters and runners.
Will end with a plug for the Canadian National. We again will be at the
Festival Inn in Stratford Ontario.
Dates are Sept 13, (pre show and futurity/maturity) 14 and 15 will have the
BOB competition. There will be a free BBQ to all attendee's on Friday evening.
We are using a new entry service this year www.dogshow.ca
The premium should be up in the next couple of days.
Hope to see everyone there............and here again. Lets give the list some

Just got home, and back on the List after being gone for almost a week. (
It's SUMMER TIME!! ... <G> ) Been Kayaking
and swimming and just 'hangin' with family, Grand kids and GREAT Grand kids.
LOVE watching the helping GREAT GKids
learn how to swim, and kayak and Paddle Board......anything water....... I'm
in. <G> The whole point of living in Northern
California is the lakes, rivers, and hiking trails.....For us anyway.
I will report that Ed Hill is doing great. He cooked one of his great BBQ's
for the exhibitors for a wonderful lunch put on by the
GSD.Fanciers of Nor.Cal. Our canopy at the Fremont shows along with the Mid
Pacific Futurity a couple of weeks ago was
between Ed Hill's and Ben Bigornia....it doesn't get more entertaining than
that... ( unless you are winning big time of course.)

I don't know how he does it, but Ben actually had frozen ice cream bars for
everyone in 100 degree heat....while he showed his
nice winning bitch. He is a real GIFT for our West Coast shows! Add Ed
Hill and you enjoy and laugh at a show whether
you win or lose. Evan was not there....and we missed him..... but Tedi was
there representing Asgard.
I'm still here.....and missing some of our big discussions on the
List.....about anything German Shepherd. ( NOT the white
issue though!! )
WHERE did our German Shepherd Dog discussions go? I would love to have a
conversation on length of loin and lack of
correct croups and rear drive. IMO we have become a Breed obsessed with
front extension. We all love to see a beautiful
extended front reach.........But lack of beautiful wedge shaped middle pieces
and good backs and rear drive along with long
loins seems to be lost in the strive for that one more inch.
Really....is that how our Breed will go down in History? Known for one more
inch of front.....but had to CHARGE into a leash
to get any power and drive off the rear.......and hide a bad back?? The
thrust of a powerful rear should follow through the
same distance as the front extension.....( both close to the ground )
resulting in the balanced coordinated extended ground
covering gait...naturally..... at ALL speeds.

Just seeing some people posting on the list made me smile....miss Jane's
stories on granmuter (?), FB sensible rants (did I say that) and Evan defining
the way. Are you still there Carolyn? We haven't given her anything to get
stirred up about for awhile......should the white issue come up again? Zoe
returned to admin and let Stormy off the hook and no one has thrown the hook
out....everyone still with us???????
