I do appreciate all your responses. We euthanized him this AM after retesting, x-rays, etc., and determining that his quality of life would be severely compromised. What's most baffling is the fact that he was asymptomatic(sp?) for the last 3 months we had him and only showed symptoms after a move to a new home. His esophagus was huge, a severe case. We will never know how or when all this started. Please say a prayer for him and give your furry friends an extra hug tonight.
