I agree with Helen's post on ads. It seems you get more bang for your
uck when you advertise in the Chronicle, even if the ads are pricey, the
istribution and exposure is so great (and more important effective) that ads

ctually cheaper based on results. As far as our Review, I don't know
hat they can do to revamp and make it profitable to advertise. Currently
t basically is preaching to the choir, our membership. We need to expand
ur distribution to make it an effective magazine. If the club would take
chance on national exposure, like have the Review available for sale in
et stores, etc., but it would have to be much more than just results, a few
ds and upcoming shows. It would need to contain articles also directed at
regular' (dare I say pet people - because that is what majority of our
reed is, family pets). Maybe a yearly expanded version to promote the
ational (one that could contain a compilation of the year's articles) again
ocusing on what a 'regular' GSD owner would be interested in to be sold
ommercially at pet stores. We could print extra copies and saturate the
eographical area where the upcoming national will be held. It could spark
nterest
n attendance of the national. We could also send it with an invitation
o local TV/radion stations for publicity. We have to start thinking
utside just our interests in the breed. As the saying goes "be inclusive not
xclusive." All I know is I miss the great articles of the past and would
ake time to go through the old Reviews page by page. I've got Reviews that
treasure going back to 1927. Now it's just bathroom reading material and
akes no time what so ever, and then I flush. :-(
