[ SHOWGSD-L ] ALERT NYS S2164a and 4253a sneak in change to pet dealer

New York Legislators are using this bill to alter the definition of a pet
dealer.
There was just a bill introduced this year A9576 that would have changed pet
dealer from
selling 9 or more animals per year for profit or a breeder who sells 25
or more born and raised on their property to OFFERING to sell as well as
sell. Obviously people might offer or appear to offer more animals than
they actually sell and I don't think that should count towards the
licensing threshold. In addition the legislature has failed to provide
funding so the mandatory inspections aren't even done. The current law
and these additions will just create a new tax on pet dealers, breeders,
groomers, and boarding kennel owners. The costs will filter down to the
consumer and heck boarding costs are already too high for me. These
bills will also require a number of vaccinations for your dog and cat
before they are allowed to be boarded and require the boarding kennel
owner to keep on record for two yrs all the info about you, name,
address, length of stay, vaccinations, etc.
It can be voted on in the senate at any time so letters are needed ASAP.
Also we should be writing to the assembly committee opposing it. The
